Lillydale Lake

Lillydale Lake is open at all times, with has a range of facilities and activities to suit everyone.  

Enjoy a picnic or barbecue, walk around the 28 hectare lake, or watch your children enjoy the all abilities playground. Entry is free.

There are 10 kilometres of shared trails at the park, perfect for walking or bike riding. Fishing is permitted at the lake.

Dogs are welcome with two designated dog off-lead areas. Dogs must be on a lead in all other areas of the park. Please observe park signage and off lead areas are highlighted on the park map(PDF, 1MB).

There is also a community room available for hire.

Playground

All abilities playspace catering for children and adults.

Features include:

  • splash pad with water activities for all ages
  • sensory creek bed with mushrooms
  • platypus and wood duck climbing sculptures
  • giant basket swing
  • expression swing
  • double flying fox
  • spinning carousel
  • liberty swing

Liberty Swing 

The all abilities playground features a Liberty Swing, giving those in a wheelchair the opportunity to enjoy a swing.

A key is required to use any Liberty Swing, or accessible toilet facility, and can be obtained free of charge from any of our Community Links. You can also apply for a permanent purchase of an MLAK key from the Master Locksmiths Association of Australasia. For more details, visit the Master Locksmith website or call 9338 8822

Water Play Park 

The Lilydale Lake Splash Pad is part of the Lilydale Lake playground. The splash pad has water activities for all ages, including water jets and sprays. Suitable for all ages. 

Boating and fishing

Non powered boats (max length 4.5m with a keel depth of up to 1m) are permitted on Lillydale Lake. For more information on sailing restrictions please contact Melbourne Water on 131 722.

Fishing is permitted at Lillydale Lake. Suitable areas and fishing jetties are highlighted on the park map (PDF, 1MB).

Accessible bathrooms

The park also has bathrooms for people with profound and multiple learning disabilities, as well as spinal injuries, spina bifida, motor neuron disease, multiple sclerosis or acquired brain injury. 

It includes:

  • accessible toilet
  • automated changing bed
  • automated ceiling hoist 

Off lead dog park

 

Lillydale Lake Wetland Works

Yarra Ranges Council and Melbourne Water have worked collaboratively through the planning and implementation of the project to limit the impact of construction on the community and environment

As part of the dewatering works, qualified ecologists have been engaged to undertake the salvage and relocation of any animals within the wetland.

The salvaging will enable over 2,300 native aquatic animals to be safely relocated to the adjacent Olinda Creek
