Join artist and illustrator Beci Orpin for a fun, hands-on creative workshop. Beci will take participants on a tour of her bright, tactile and interactive exhibition dream room, followed by a workshop where kids can make artworks inspired by or in response to the exhibition.

Please wear clothes that can get dirty. If you would like to bring an apron or smock, we encourage this as well!

Age recommendation: Recommended for ages 6-12.

PLEASE NOTE: for children 8 and under, parent or guardian (aged 16+) will need to be present for the duration of the workshop; for children 9 and over, a parent or guardian will need to sign participants in and out.

 

About Beci Orpin

Beci Orpin is a Melbourne-based multidisciplinary artist, designer and illustrator. Her practice brings together colour and shape to create joyful designs, textiles and installations. Orpin loves creating accessible and interactive play spaces for kids, and those who are kids at heart, that offer unique and inspiring hands-on learning and tactile experiences. She is interested in how art has the capacity to bring different communities and people together.

Her generous and collaborative nature has led to many partnerships with brands and organisations such as Apple, Google, Disney, Uniqlo, Gorman and Halcyon Nights. She has recently presented exhibitions and programs at the Immigration Museum Victoria, Shepparton Art Museum, National Gallery of Victoria, Craft Victoria and Melbourne Design Week. She self-published a series of books, Book of Girls, which surveys the female form across 30 years of making and charts the dynamic evolution of her practice.
