Volunteers_Youth_habitat-restoration

Join Amy (FoHH Youth Reference Group Convenor) and Eliza (FoHH Environmental Coordinator) for a planting session in Yellingbo Nature Conservation Area where you will be helping to enhance habitat for the Helmeted Honeyeater and lowland Leadbeater's Possum. This event is designed for 18 to 31+ year olds.

Attendees will assist with infill planting into critical habitat for both species. Learn about tree dieback and senescence and soil microbial function as we explore the the causes of habitat decline. Attendees will have the opportunity to discuss habitat restoration approaches used by the Friends of the Helmeted Honeyeater and other stakeholders in the recovery program for Helmeted Honeyeaters, as well as the habitat restoration plans for the YNCA and the broader Liwik Barring Landscape Conservation Area.
