Small Steps CAN Make A Difference

QTR-PAGE-STAR-MAIL-AD

We’re all aware of Climate Change and the impact it has on our Community. Speaking with our Community, we at Healesville CoRE found that many people were not sure how they could help combat Climate Change within their own community. The key purpose of our Webinar is to show you that even the “smallest steps CAN make a difference”

We will have a panel of community members who have utilised many of the opportunities afforded to them by Healesville CoRE and how those opportunities have made a difference in their own homes, as well as with home energy efficiency expert Lucinda Flynn and Amy Gregorovich from Yarra Ranges Council talking about Community Microgrids.

Our Panelists

  • Meredith & Phil Smith will be on hand to discuss Heat Pumps
  • Ross Coulson will be on hand to talk about the benefits of owning an Electric Vehicle
  • Sue Parry had her home assessed for optimal energy efficiency
  • Lucinda Flynn on the topic of Home Energy Efficiency
  • Matthew Leeson on the topic of Solar installations and
  • Amy Gregorovich from Yarra Ranges Council on the topic of Microgrids, and ongoing renewable projects

More about our panelists:

Lucinda Flynn, founder of Going Green Solutions, who is a trainer and home energy efficiency assessor, will give a short presentation about ways you can reduce your energy consumption in your home, and therefore your power bills and carbon footprint.

Matthew Leeson is the Construction Manager of Leeson Group, a passionate team of engineers and electricians building lasting solar systems, and will be on hand to answer questions about solar installation.

Amy Gregorovich holds a degree in BSc (Honours) in Environmental Science and is the Energy Resilient Communities Officer at Yarra Ranges Council. Council has partnered with Monash University to produce a feasibility study into building a microgrid in Healesville and will be sharing the latest results.

Ross Coulson attended an event on electric vehicles run by Healesville CoRE last year, and was so inspired he decided there and then to go and buy one. He loves talking about his new car and will be happy to answer any questions or concerns you may have about driving and charging EV’s.

Phil and Meredith Smith purchased an electric heat pump through Healesville CoRE’s community bulk buys, and are now enjoying lower power bills, lower emissions and reliable hot water.

Sue Parry is one of many who have taken advantage of Healesville CoRE’s free service to have trained advisors assess her home for energy efficiency. They suggested small changes to improve heating and cooling, which Sue followed through with, and she is extremely happy with the results.
