Rethinking Disability – Shifting Perspectives and Embracing Diversity

Decorative

FREE Community event, all welcome!

Join us for an enlightening event focused on changing the way we think about disability. Together we will explore how we can create a more inclusive environment by challenging societal attitudes and structures. Attendees will have the chance to rethink their perspectives on disability through open conversation.

Panel Discussion: Engage with members of the Council’s Disability Advisory Committee and Council staff who have lived experience. They will share their personal insights and answer your questions, providing a deeper understanding of the challenges and opportunities in creating an inclusive society.

Keynote Speaker: We are honored to have Elle Steele as our keynote speaker. Elle is a disability champion, the National Project Manager for Building Inclusive Sports Club, a Change our Game Ambassador for the Office of Women in Sport, and a Paralympic athlete mentor. She will discuss how our community can shift from viewing disability as something that needs ‘fixing’ to embracing it as a vital aspect of diversity.

Performance by: We'll be joined by musician Saint Ergo. They are a cinematic modern-contemporary music experience with soundscapes that will shake your hips and break your soul. Joanna is the force behind the project that forges a unique fusion of R&B and baroque pop. You can feel the lived experience that we share as human beings within every song.

Come and be part of this important conversation. Let’s work together to create a more inclusive and accepting community.
