The Queensland Fruit Fly (QFF) threat to fruit is real and present in the Yarra Valley. It has gradually increased its presence since first detected here in 2018. Many people have been a part of the local responses and successful control; it takes a united community to get ahead of this pest. QFF risk is surrounding the Yarra Valley and we are under constant threat of incursion and infestation.

Broad spectrum chemical control of QFF can pose a risk to our native pollinators and biological predators in all fruit production systems. Utilising an integrated pest management (IPM) approach on an area wide scale is key to controlling QFF and preserving the good bugs. We have the answers to management and control, and we need everyone on board to detect, respond and manage QFF using the whole IPM QFF toolbox.

Join this webinar to learn about:

  • Current QFF risks in the Yarra Valley
  • Effective management strategies
