The Healesville Community Emergency Group are honoured to announce that internationally recognised climate change expert and Honorary Professor David Karoly will be presenting to the residents of Healesville.

The Healesville Community Emergency Group are a critical resource that can provide support to residents in the immediate aftermath of a disaster.

Honorary Professor David Karoly recently retired from CSIRO and during his talk he will share the latest climate impact modelling and predictions that are specific to the Healesville region.

David has an extensive background in climate change science and policy. He was the Leader of the Earth Systems and Climate Change Hub in the Australian Government's National Environmental Science Program, based in CSIRO, from 2018 to June 2021.

David's presentation will be approximately 40 to 45 minutes long, and there will be ample time for questions. We encourage attendees to bring an internet capable phone/device to participate in the Q&A section.

David's presentation will be followed by an introduction to the Healesville Community Emergency Hub project which will be a resource available to, and run by, the community in the event of a disaster. This session will provide attendees with a better understanding of the range of roles that would need to be filled to activate the Hub and how they can become involved in strengthening their community's place-based resilience to future hazards and disasters.

Bookings are essential.
