Do you wonder what plants, animals or fungi you’re seeing or hearing in your garden, or when walking in the bush?

Join in to learn new skills or share your knowledge with like-minded people in a Friends of the Helmeted Honeyeater hosted citizen science events where we record the species we observe. You are welcome to come along regularly, or as a once-off. You don’t need to be able to identify species in order to participate. All eyes and ears contribute – everyone is welcome!

Our hosted citizen science events take you to different areas within Yellingbo Nature Conservation Area, with the aim of understanding more about the species that are present in different seasons. This assists us with ongoing habitat protection and restoration work within the reserve.

NB these are gently paced walking events of up to 6km on mostly flat, but uneven tracks. There are rarely toilets or seats at the sites we survey. Age restrictions may apply for some sessions. Details on the registration link.
