Celebrate the Civic Centre launch at the Community Open Day!

On Sunday 20 November, Yarra Ranges Council is inviting the community to come and visit the new Civic Centre at 15 Anderson Street, Lilydale, with a free Community Open day! 

It’ll be a day for community to meet with Councillors and Yarra Ranges employees to learn more about the services Yarra Ranges deliver and to celebrate community groups throughout the municipality. 

From 11am - 4pm, there will be opportunities to take a tour of the Civic Centre and chat to people from across the entire organisation, from the people who plan new playgrounds, to the staff hosting world-class performances in our cultural venues; the community safety officers who help find lost animals and the teams helping us work towards net zero emissions as well as several community groups who provide valuable services to our community. You’ll get to meet members from Yarra Ranges Bushlands and Biodiversity, Community Wellbeing, Communications and Engagement, Waste Management, Disability and Inclusion, Economic and Investment, Governance and Risk, and Sustainably teams and learn about the services Yarra Ranges Council provides and Councillors will be there to chat with community too. 

There will be performances from Yarra Valley Singers, DJ Congo, saxophonist Jenny Game, vocal performances from Pia Nesvara, incredible piano playing from local talents David Soo and Nick Vargasm, Aiden will be playing a combination of base, harp and clarinet, circus performances and workshops from Circus Arts and some incredible dance performances from our local Australian Chin Community. And you’ll even be able to get up close and personal with some wildlife including snakes, lizards, birds and crocodiles from the wildlife conservationist group, Black Snake Productions.
