Council are pleased advise that the application to the state government was successful, and funding has been secured for this project.

Yarra Glen Bowling Club is a Council owned Facility, under Lease by the Club, to provide recreational opportunities to the residents in Yarra Glen and surrounding areas. This project will greatly benefit the growing participation in Bowls and provide safe access across the municipality for participants of all abilities, ages and improve participation.

The facility upgrade will include:

  • A new LED lighting system designed to comply with the current Australian Standard for Outdoor Bowling Green Lighting (AS2560.2.8), 100 lux Club Competition level;
  • Installation will comply with AS4282.2019 obtrusive lighting levels to adjoining residents; and
  • Upgrade to existing surface, including drainage, relaying of synthetic pitch, in line with Outdoor Bowling Green standards.
