Business Storm and Flood Recovery
Yarra Ranges Council, in partnership with emergency services and State Government departments, held a series of Storm and Flood Relief and Recovery Forums for business. The forums were an opportunity for Council and the agencies to share updates on work done so far and what’s to come over the next few months of recovery and clean-up.
Most importantly, they were an opportunity for local businesses to share the impacts on their businesses, and the challenges they continue to face.
Since the storm and flood event, the Economic Development team has conducted outreach to business, trader and industry groups via phone calls and via business e-bulletin & social media. The Storm and Flood Relief and Recovery Forums were one part of this ongoing outreach. Between the 7th and 15th of July 2021, we visited Monbulk, Upwey, Healesville and Yarra Junction.
In attendance were Ward Councillors and Council representatives including Yarra Ranges CEO Tammi Rose, and Manager of Economic Development and Investment, Helen Ruddell. Representatives from VicPol, SES, Dept. of Jobs Precincts and Regions, Ag Vic, Partners in Wellbeing and Bushfire Recovery Victoria were there, along with others.
Business feedback from these forums and our other outreach activities will continue to inform and support our ongoing recovery efforts.
