Yarra Ranges Shire Council (“Council”) gives notice under section 115 of the Local Government Act 2020 (“Act”) of its intention to enter into a lease with Optus Mobile Pty Ltd (Optus), in respect of part of the land at 840 Wellington Road, Lysterfield (Lysterfield Transfer Station) as marked on the plan below, (“the land”) for the continued use as a telecommunication equipment shelter.
Principal terms of lease
The principal terms of the lease will be:
- A term of 20 years.
- Under the lease, Optus will be permitted to use the land for maintaining and operating a telecommunications network and telecommunications service including but not limited to installing, storing, operating, repairing, maintaining, altering, and replacing telecommunications equipment consistent with the evolving nature of telecommunications services.

Making a submission
A person may make a submission on the proposal. Submissions must be submitted by no later than Friday 16th February 2024.

Any person making a submission may request in the submission that they wish to appear in person, or to be represented by a person specified in the submission, at a meeting to be heard in support of that submission.
Submitters will be informed in writing of the day, time and place of the meeting of the Council or of a committee determined by the Council where submissions will be heard.
Submitters should be aware that submissions are required to be available for public inspection.
