Council Elections 2024
The next Local Government General Elections will be held on Saturday, 26 October, 2024.
Council elections are regulated by the Local Government Act 2020 and the Local Government (Electoral) Regulations 2020. The management of the election process is undertaken by the Victorian Electoral Commission (VEC) on behalf of Yarra Ranges Council.

Key dates
- Wednesday, 7 August 2024: Voters Roll now Closed
- Monday, 9 September 2024: Nominations Open
- Tuesday, 17 September 2024: Nominations Close (12pm)
- Monday, 7 October to Thursday 10 October 2024: Mailout of Ballot Packs
- Friday, 25 October 2024: Close of Voting (6pm) Note: (postal ballots must be in the mail by this time for your vote to be counted)
- Saturday, 26 October 2024: Election Day (no in-person voting)
The Election is to be declared by no later than Friday 15 November 2024.
