Citizenship
Attending a citizenship ceremony is the final step in the journey to becoming an Australian Citizen and receiving your Certificate of Australian Citizenship.
The ceremony fulfils the requirements under Australian Citizenship Law and provides an opportunity for Yarra Ranges Council to officially welcome its new citizens.
All enquiries regarding Australian Citizenship and the application process should be directed to the Department of Home Affairs.
Once approved for Australian Citizenship , applicants will receive a letter of invitation from the Department of Home Affairs, and Council will be provided a list of names of those people to include in the next ceremony.
Council has no influence or authority in determining who attends the scheduled ceremonies, this is completely managed by the Department of Home Affairs.
