As the local government elections will be held on 26 October 2024, Yarra Ranges Council will assume a caretaker role from Tuesday 17 September 2024. During the caretaker period, there will be limited changes made to the content on Council's websites. Information will only be added to this website in accordance with caretaker requirements.
Fernhills Preschool operates under The Early Years Learning Framework and the National Quality Standards. This Framework and Standards emphasis on supporting the development of the children's identity, community links, learning and communication skills.
Throughout the year educators carefully observe and plan learning experiences for each child in order to enhance their learning within each of the Early Years Learning and Developmental Outcomes. All children learn and develop in different ways and at different rates. From these observations, individual goals are set and play activities are provided to help the children practise specific skills and to build on their strengths.

Fernhill preschool operates a rotational model providing each child with 15 hours of preschool across 3 of the above days per week.
