Ping pong balls or larger tennis balls if using a bucket

Masking tape
Ages: Age 5-100
Purpose: Creative fun maths activity looking at distance, measurement and weight.
Place a line of masking tape on the floor.
Using a measuring tape, measure from the line of the masking tape to 1 metre from the line. Place a piece of masking tape marking the 1metre distance.
Measure from the 1 meter line and measure 0.5 meters. Place a piece of tape at 0.5 meters. (1.5 meters altogether).
Measure from the 1.5 meter line and measure a further 0.5 meters. Place a piece of tape on the mark - 2 meters altogether.
Place one cup or bucket on the 1 metre mark, 1.5 metre mark and 2 metre mark.
Stand on the first line of masking tape with all your balls beside you. Throw the balls into the buckets or cups.
Qs - How many balls did you get into each bucket? Which bucket was the easiest and hardest to get the ball into?
Extension - Join in the game and have a competition on who can get their balls into all of the buckets first. Can you place a bucket further away and get a ball in?
