Kallista Centenary Celebrations!
A community event to mark 100 years since Kallista was named. Formerly known as South Sassafras, on 1st April 1925, Kallista was born!
This historic milestone will see Kallista come alive with a recreation of 1920's. Imagine the town abuzz with live music, fun games, food trucks, a bush dance, jazz bands, a youth stage and more! Celebrating First Peoples, historical figures and honouring local legends.
Meet Uncle Murrundindi and see our Community Groups on show!
Then as the sun goes down, Kallista will be lit up at night, truly living up to the meaning of it's name - "Most beautiful!"
The free community event will run from 2pm into the night with free shuttle buses available - check the website soon for details and the full program.
This event is made possible thanks to generous funding from both Community Bank Monbulk & District and Yarra Ranges Council Community Grants Program.
Partnering with musical ensembles, the Kallista Primary and Kindergarden, Kallista Traders and our beloved CFA.
A gala event to connect the present with the past.
