43 Buxton Gum Swampy Riparian Woodland (EVC 83)

Community structure 

Woodland with an upper storey dominated by Eucalyptus crenulata (Buxton Gum) but sometimes including E. ovata (Swamp Gum). Middle storey contains a variety of low shrubs while the ground cover is dominated by sedges, rushes and grasses. This community is highly significant, occurring in only 2 areas within the State. 

Distribution 

Restricted to a single occurrence within the Shire on moist lowland area beside the Yarra River. Soils are moist, especially in winter. 

Typical suburbs/areas occurring in this EVC are:  Spadonis Reserve, Coldstream.
