Community structure

Open woodland to 15m high dominated by Eucalyptus pauciflora ssp. pauciflora (Snow Gum). Middle storey is sparse over a  diverse ground layer of grasses and herbs. This is a highly degraded community with few samples left. It tends to be recognised by a few remnant trees by roadsides or in grazing land.

Distribution

Scattered remnant stands are located on moist moderately fertile soils on gentle slopes or undulating hills in the Yarra Valley. Grazing and urbanisation has significantly reduced this community. There are also a few scattered subalpine communities on Mt Donna Buang and on high points above Upper Yarra Dam and near Marysville.

Typical suburbs/areas occurring in this EVC are:  Mooroolbark, Tarrawarra, Mt Donna Buang
