Community structure 

Medium open forest to 25m high with a mixture of eucalypts, dominated by Eucalyptus fulgens (Green Scentbark) and  E. radiata (Narrow-leaf Peppermint). Exocarpos cupressiformis (Cherry Ballart) is a common large shrub in the middle storey, which contains a shrub layer to 5m high. A dense and diverse storey of herbs and grasses, sedges and bracken characterises this vegetation community. 

Distribution 

A restricted community scattered in a band in the valleys of the foothills from Healesville to Macclesfield/Yellingbo on moist fertile clay loams and loams. This is considered a rare community in Victoria. E. fulgens is endemic to Victoria and is known from only a few populations, most of which occur within the Shire of Yarra Ranges.
