  • FlowersSingle large nodding flowers to 2 cm across held erect in terminal leaf axils. Capsules downy, 4.5-9.5 cm long, splitting to release many seeds with tufts of hairs.

  • Growing conditionsMoist to wet soils on banks of slower watercourses, in swamps and in shallow water in high rainfall areas. Tolerates snow. Semi shade.
