Accessible Session information

The Memo Healesville and Arts Centre Warburton run regular cinema screenings with Open Captions (OC) as well as weekly Spit the Dummy (SD) and Sensory Friendly (SF) sessions.

Open Captions (OC)
Enjoy your favourite film with text and sound descriptions displayed on screen.

Sensory Friendly (SF)
Enjoy new release family films in a safe and accepting environment, with the cinema lights turned up and the sound turned down.

Spit the Dummy (SD)
Relax and watch a film meant for adults, all while your baby sleeps/gurgles/chats! Lights are dimly lit, volume is slightly lowered and no one minds if baby makes noise – half the audience is in nappies!

OC: Open Captions. Text on screen
AL: Assistive Listening. Hearing loop technology available
SD: Spit the Dummy sessions are a friendly screening for adults with children under two. Films screened aren’t intended for children but an opportunity for adults to see a grown-up film. No ticket is needed for the child.
YRFS: Yarra Ranges Film Society session. See membership details.
SF: Sensory Friendly (SF) session tickets are all $9: Lower volume slightly, dim lights

Yarra Ranges Film Society (YRFS) movie sessions are for members only, so individual session tickets are unavailable for purchase.

Memberships are available via annual subscription or pro rata membership throughout the year.
