Coronation Park is located behind the Main Street in Healesville, it offers walking trails along the Watts River, picnic tables, BBQ facilities and a rotunda as well as lots of grassy space for kids to run around and plenty of parking.
There is an abundance of bird life so you’re sure to see a kookaburra or two.
Be sure to check out the Platypus rock, Healesville’s connection to the natural environment and indigenous animals has been immortalised in a sculpture seat installed at Coronation Park and the Memo Hall.
The sculpture aims to improve waterway health by capitalising on community motivation to reduce litter, which can impact platypus habitat. Have a stroll along the Watts River and you may just see one of these majestic animals.
