For nearly 100 years this iconic 50 piece symphony orchestra has become renowned for an ever-changing variety program that ranges from the classics – inc. Bach, Mozart and Tchaikovsky, through Operetta, Musical Theatre – from Gilbert & Sullivan to Andrew Lloyd Webber – and contemporary composers such as John Williams (Star Wars) and Peter Allen.
The Orchestra provides high quality entertaining concerts at affordable cost to all Victorians and through tailored programming with broad popular appeal, make music accessible to those who are inhibited from attending live symphonic concerts by the tyranny of distance or economic reasons.
