Insects are the most diverse group of terrestrial organisms, however, their abundance and diversity in our urban parks and gardens often goes relatively unnoticed.

Join us for a walk at Lillydale Lake where we will explore and observe the insect fauna which calls the reserve home and learn about their life history and behaviour. Participants will also be shown how to photograph and upload their insect observations to the citizen science platform 'iNaturalist'.

Walk times are 10.15am and 11.30am.

City Nature Challenge

The City Nature Challenge is a global event where cities around the world compete over a four day period to see who can contribute the most observations of flora, fauna and fungi to iNaturalist, a citizen science platform. This year's challenge runs from Friday 25 to Monday 28 April.

We encourage you to participate by downloading the iNaturalist app to your phone or by signing up at inaturalist.ala.org.au before attending the event.
