A curated exhibition of works by four contemporary local makers that challenge prescribed ideas of adornment. Offering a new vision of femininity that celebrates strength, resilience, and empowerment. 

In a world where women’s appearances are often objectified and commodified, feminine ideals have historically suggested that women are incomplete or lacking, needing “improvement” through adornment, prescribed dress, or strict body image. By reimagining the concept of adornment, these artists have created works from metal, textile, glass and clay to reclaim ownership of the female body, utilising adornment as an expression of feminine power and protection.
