Get a copy of building plans or permits

Please note this is for building permits and plans only.  
You can also apply for planning permits plans and septic system plans

You must be the property owner, or have their written permission to get a copy of plans and permits

While every effort will be made to locate the information, we cannot guarantee they will be available.

If the building was built prior to 1966 it is unlikely that documentation will be available. If we cannot find the information, the research fee will not be refunded.

Please note that drainage lines are rarely shown on building permit plans.

 

Residential plans and documentation

Step 1.Fees

House Plans - fee includes up to 2 permits (up to five A1 sheets)

Step 2.Owner Authorisation

Building Permits and Plans can only be provided to the Owner of the property.  If you have recently purchased a property and settlement has not yet occurred you will be required to submit the Owners Authorisation(PDF, 143KB) form along with your application in order for us to process your request.

Step 3.Delivery Method

Building Permit documents can be supplied by choosing one of the options below with your certificate application:

  • email
  • collection from a Link Office or
  • via Australia Post

If the preferred delivery method is collection from a Link Office or via Australia Post there may be a delay in receiving the documents.

Commercial plans and documentation

Step 1.Fees

Commercial plans – fee for 1 permit (up to five A1 sheets) $300
