Pay Your Rates

Council’s online payment system is the preferred method for paying rates.

By using this system you can make paying rates easier by being able to:

  • manage your own payment details
  • set up a direct debit plan
  • receive SMS reminders before bills are due
  • select flexible instalment options

Online

Step 1.Have your details ready

Make sure you have your details ready. Your rates notice contains your rates information including your assessment number.

Please note: The system will also require a current and active phone number to use this service.

Step 2.Use the QR code or visit the website

To make an online rates payment with your debit or credit card, please scan the QR code on your rates notice or visit pay.yarraranges.vic.gov.au.

You’ll need to confirm your phone number, assessment number (as found on your rates notice) and the related property before you’re able to pay your rates.

Direct Debit

Step 1.Have your details ready

Make sure you have your details ready. Your rates notice contains your rates information including your assessment number.

Step 2.Use the QR code or visit the website

Scan the QR code on your rates notice or visit pay.yarraranges.vic.gov.au to set up your direct debit.

You’ll need to confirm your phone number, assessment number (as found on your rates notice) and the related property before you can set up your direct debit.

Step 3.Step 3: Select a Direct Debit option

Once you’ve confirmed your details you can choose from the following direct debit options:

  • Autopay: Funds are withdrawn on the 4 instalment dates when they are due.
  • Flexible payment: Funds are withdrawn on a weekly, fortnightly or monthly frequency over 12 months.

 

Select the option that works the best for you and set up your direct debit.

Step 1.Find your details

Step 2.Pay rates over the phone

Call 13 18 16 to pay your rates over the phone.

BPAY

Step 1.Find your details

Make sure you have your details ready. Your rates notice contains your rates information including your reference number.

Step 2.Use BPAY to pay rates

Use BPAY online, by phone or via your bank to pay your rates.

The BPAY code is: 8979

Your reference number is located next to the BPAY logo on your rates notice.

Mail

Step 1.Complete cheque details

Complete your cheque details with the information presented on your rate notice. Make your cheque payable to 'Shire of Yarra Ranges' and cross 'not negotiable'.

Step 2.Mail cheque

Mail your cheque to Yarra Ranges Council, PO Box 105, Lilydale 3140. Please include your address and assessment number on the reverse of the cheque.
