This policy will inform and guide Council on the applicable protocols for flying the Australian National Flag and other flags.

Australian national flag protocols
The Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet provides information on the Australian National Flag Protocol including the Australian Flags booklet: part 2, which is an excerpt of the Australian Flags booklet and deals with the protocols for the appropriate use and flying of the flag.
Yarra Ranges Council will fly flags in accordance with our annual flag schedule, the Yarra Ranges Flag Policy and the Australian National Flag protocols.
*Any flag flown in the below table is accompanied by the standard set of flags outlined in Councils Flag Policy i.e. Australian Flag, Aboriginal Flag and Torres Straight Islander Flag.
