These are two fortnightly groups for LGBTIQA+ young people in Maroondah. My Pride is for young people aged 10 to 13 years, Sage is for young people aged 14 to 18 years. You have an opportunity to connect with other young people, and celebrate your identity in a safe and supported space. Rural Rainbows is a fortnightly social group for young people who identify with the LGBTIQA+ community or are questioning. This is a chance to connect, have fun and chat in an inclusive, safe and supporting place.

There is a new free group craft space for young people in Ringwood. Held every second Friday 1 to 4pm between April and June 2022, it’s a place to chill out and be creative. There are lots of supplies and activities on offer, otherwise you can also BYO project. Register your interest to join here
There is an online social group for young people to engage in fun activities within a safe and inclusive space. Held every second Thursday in May and June, 4.30 to 6.30pm. The Royal Children’s Hospital are looking for young people (over 15 years), and families, carers, and supporters in who have experience of mental health challenges and recovery. Advisors are paid $83.60 an hour for their expertise and will have access to supports to make ensure they are in a safe and supportive environment.

The Centre for Multicultural Youth (CMY) are currently looking for young people aged 16-25 from refugee or migrant backgrounds to co-design and deliver their new program, Speak Up, which will be designed to promote gender equity among multicultural young people in Victoria. The 5 Acre Project at Trek provides opportunities for young people who have become disengaged a circuit-breaker where they can work, learn and succeed in a non-judgmental, therapeutic farm environment. Young people use permaculture and organic farming principles to grow beautiful and nourishing food and plants, cook food for all those on site each day, develop practical skills. Find out more here.
