Bookaburra storytime volunteers support young children’s early literacy skills and fosters a love of reading.

Bookaburra volunteers run interactive sessions including stories, rhymes and fun at community venues across Yarra Ranges.

Reading to children has enormous benefits on their ability to succeed at school and learning. Reading from a very young age can have a positive effect on a child’s emotional, social and language development.

Volunteers are assessed for suitability, trained and supported to read to groups of parents and their young children (aged 0-5yrs) at a range of community venues .
