Kallista Kindergarten

Kallista Kindergarten is provoked and inspired by the Reggio Emelia research and education project in Italy, with a strong and genuine focus on the role and value of learning through relationships. We believe our children are capable, curious and competent and our work with children supports and encourages them to be active and engaged constructors of knowledge - to have meaningful experiences, become flexible learners, develop as thinkers, problem solvers and risk takers and to develop a strong and positive sense of place and belonging in this and the wider community.

Nature kinder has become a widely valued part of the Kallista kinder experience, providing children with the opportunity to play in a natural outdoor setting, encouraging an appreciation and respect to the complexity, fragility and beauty of the environment (3hours/week nature play for children 0-5 years).

Music features predominately within the Kallista kinder program, acknowledging the ability of music to build social inclusion and enhance wellbeing whilst leveraging numerous other benefits such a developing thinking and learning skills, enhancing literacy and lifting numeracy standards.

We recognise that families are children's first and most influential teachers and we respect their input and participation in all aspects of our education program. Together we can foster strong self esteem and confidence that will enable children to fully enjoy their time at kinder and life beyond.

Kallista Kindergarten is a community-based kinder, managed by Try Early Learning.
