Lilydale North Preschool

At Lilydale North Preschool we have a play-based learning program. We believe play is the most important aspect of children's learning and development. Children can learn naturally through play at their own pace and in a secure environment. When in play children learn at their highest level and this is enhanced when they play with peers. We provide the children with opportunities to play with objects and ideas in different situations and from a variety of different sources. Through play they discover connections and come to newer and better understanding and ways of doing things. Children's play reflects their wide ranging and varied interests and preoccupations. Play can involve a child playing alone, or alongside, or cooperatively with another child, other children or an educator. We provide rich, enabling environments with sufficient and appropriate safe space and equipment. Educators allow children to dictate the pace, length and focus of activities, and any interventions, by being subtly supportive.

 COMMITTEE OF MANAGEMENT

At Lilydale North Preschool we have a volunteer committee of management. The committee is responsible for the general running of the Preschool and appointing educators. Parents are encouraged to join the committee to be actively involved in their child's educations. There are many roles on the committee and various ways you can help the preschool.
