Benefits of Open-ended Play

Things you'll need for this activity

Open-ended materials are items that can be used by themselves or with other materials.  They can be carried, lined up, redesigned, taken apart, moved and put back together in multiple ways

What you'll learn in this activity

Ages Appropriate for ages 3+

Purpose Open-ended play enables children to be creative, engage in decision making and in problem solving.  By exploring the materials, children become architects, designers, builders, explorers, archaeologists, artists, gardeners, inventors, teachers and learners.
