About

Monbulk Landcare is a group of like-minded local residents and business people in and around the Monbulk area who care for their environment. The group’s goal is to improve habitat for native birds and animals on public and private land, with a focus on streamside health. The group work to remove environmental weeds, protect existing habitat, nurture natural regeneration of habitat and in some locations we plant native vegetation as required.

Activities/Working Bees

Removal of environmental weeds and planting where necessary. Joint projects with Yarra Ranges Council include:

  • the Moores Road splitter
  • rehabilitating Monbulk Caravan Park
  • restoring vegetation along Carcoola Rd Monbulk.

The group are also involved in the distribution of Kordyana smut fungus to manage Tradescantia infestations.
