Accommodation registration fees
The establishment fee is payable when submitting the online application. This fee is non-refundable.
The initial registration fee will be invoiced to you after the Health Officer has assessed and approved your application.
You are unable to trade in your premises until this fee has been paid in full.
Upon payment of the registration fee you will receive your registration certificate. The registration is valid until 31 December each year.

Transfer an accommodation registration
There is no establishment fee payable for the registration of an Aquatic Facility.
The registration fee is payable when you lodge your application.
After the Health Officer has assessed and approved your application you will receive your registration certificate.

Transfer a health registration
One-off Hairdressing registration fee
Hairdressers that don’t include any high or medium risk beauty activities pay a one-off registration fee.
Hairdressing registrations are ongoing and are not required to be renewed.
Transfer fees are not applicable to one-off Hairdressing registrations.
Additional inspection fees
A fee of $125.00 is payable for each additional inspection at the health & beauty premises after the first follow up inspection. This fee is payable before the Health Officer books their inspection with you.
This fee is non-refundable.
The permit fee is payable when you lodge your application.
After we have assessed and approved your application you will receive your Roadside Trading Permit.

Roadside trading permit FAQs
What does the permit and renewal fee cover?
- Assessment of the Initial Application and relevant site inspections to ensure compliance with the Neighbourhood Amenity Local Law 2020 and Streets & Roadside Trading Policy;
- The ability to trade from the roadside throughout Yarra Ranges Council; and
- Required inspections for education, complaints, compliance issues and enforcement action.
Why do I need to pay the full fee from 1 October?
If your initial registration is approved between 1 October to 31 December we will register your premises until 31 December of the following year.
This provides you with the remaining months of the current year at no charge.
You will not be required to pay a renewal fee until the following year.
Why aren't there any transfer fees?
We do not transfer Roadside Trading Permit between proprietors.
FoodTrader registration establishment fee
An establishment fee will be added to your application when Council accepts your application via the FoodTrader Customer Portal. The establishment fee is non-refundable.
Upon payment of the establishment fee your application will be allocated to a Health Officer for assessment.
There is no establishment fee for a Class 4 Notification.
FoodTrader registration fees
The registration fees will be invoiced to you after the Health Officer has assessed and approved your application.
Short-term registrations fees
You will be invoiced 50% of the full registration fee for FoodTrader registrations required between 1 day to 6 months.
Upon payment of the fees you will receive your registration certificate.
Do I need a FoodTrader registration?
FoodTrader is a Victoria-wide registration and notification portal for people selling food from temporary and mobile food premises.

How long is the FoodTrader registration valid?
The registration is valid until 31 December each year, unless you have applied for a short-term registration.
How do I renew my FoodTrader registration?
You will receive a Renewal Notice via the FoodTrader portal each year requesting payment.
To ensure your business is registered to continue trading into the following year, you must apply to renew your registration and pay the fee by 31 December.

The establishment fee covers the cost of a Health Officer assessing your FoodTrader application and reviewing and approving your plans. It includes the initial inspection of each of your temporary food premises (mobile trucks, water carter trucks and vending machines) and one follow up inspection (if required) prior to registration.
What does the FoodTrader food registration fee cover?
The registration fee covers the cost of a Health Officer inspecting your premises within the first 3 months of you opening your business and one follow up inspection, if required.
If you have paid a full fee, it also allows for your annual inspection, including one follow up inspection, if required.
This fee also covers the cost of any food sampling the Health Officer may need to do, phone calls, emails, newsletters and complaint inspections, as required.
This fee is payable for each mobile premises, water carter truck and vending machine.
This fee is only payable once per registration if you have multiple temporary premises. e.g. stalls, marquees etc. the fees refundable?
Are FoodTrader fees refundable?
The establishment fee is non-refundable.
The additional inspection fee is non-refundable.
The registration fee may be refundable, depending on your circumstances. Apply for a refund of your registration fee.
Why do I need to pay the full fee from 1 October?
If your initial registration is approved from 1 October to 31 December, we will register your premises until 31 December of the following year.

Why aren't there any transfer fees for Food registrations?
As of 1 July 2021, the Food Act 1984 no longer allows food registrations to be transferred when there is a change in ownership.
All food registrations that are transferring to a new proprietor need to be applied for in the same manner as a new food registration.
Both the establishment fee and the registration fee are payable for all food registrations that require a change in ownership.

Can a Community Group or Sporting Group receive assistance paying fees?
To assist our Community & Sporting Groups we have discounted our Registration fees by 50%.
Do I need to pay fees for both my fixed and temporary food premises?
Yes. If you have both a fixed and a temporary food premises you will incur both the establishment fee and the registration fee for each registration.
These fees cover the assessment and ongoing inspections at each of your registered premises.
What fees do I pay to obtain a Pre-Transfer Inspection and Report?
You will need to pay the Pre-Transfer Inspection Report Fee. This is payable per premises, not registration. e.g. If you are looking at a premises that has both a food and a health registration you will only pay this fee once.
Apply online for a Pre-Transfer Inspection & Report for a premises you are interested in.
You are then required to pay fees per registration when you are ready to change/transfer each of the registrations into your name.
Are there any discounts if I have more than one registration?
No. The establishment fees and registration fees are payable for each registration that you require for your business.
These fees cover the cost of the relevant assessments and inspections required under each of the Acts.
